He wondered if his mother accused his father of changing and no longer being the same Samuel just because he fell for another woman or because of something else.
She said he had kept a secret from her.

Even Maryam didn’t know what the secret was. The only person who knew the real secret was not Remington’s mother, but his father.
“What on earth does he want to do? He actually hurt my mother and even you.” Remington was filled with righteous indignation.
“I don’t know what he wants to do exactly, but he must have some ulterior motives. He must know whether my sister went missing or died. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have locked me up.”

When Maryam recalled what Carlos had done to her, her emotions. ran out of control.

The family driver sent them to the hospital, and Cecelia pushed Remington to Gabriella’s ward.
Gabriella’s condition had stabilized and improved after she received treatment. She would stay a few more days before being discharged and going home.
When she saw Cecelia accompanying Remington to visit her, the old lady was happy and thought that her grandson and granddaughter- in-law had developed feelings for each other.
“Hello, Remington, Cecelia,” the old lady greeted them.
Cynthia also said, “Hello, Cecelia, Sebastian!”
“How is Grandma doing?”
After greeting them, Remington asked as he approached.
“Grandma is getting better. She’ll be discharged from the hospital and go home in a few days,” Cynthia responded.
“Yes, I’m fine. I just want to go home now. I miss my precious great- grandson,” Gabriella said with a smile.
“Don’t worry, Grandma. Andres is here too. I’ll let him come in and keep you company.
Andres was brought into the ward, and the old lady’s mood improved a lot when she saw the child. She held his hand tightly and didn’t let go.

Remington turned to Cynthia and said, “Cynthia, may I have a private talk with Grandma?”
