Charlotte originally thought that Ben and Anna would be disappointed when they

jumped on it at first sight.
“Wow! A bed made of wood! That’s amazing!” Anna patted the stiff board with
eyes full of surprise.
Charlotte didn’t know how to react.
It was the first time she felt an insurmountable gap between herself and the
children.
Seeing her shock, Joe chuckled and hugged her shoulder, “For them, this is
indeed more rare than an amusement park.”
They can go to an amusement park anytime, but a thatched cottage like this…

Not only did Ben and Anna happily sit on the bed, but they also waved to
Charlotte and Joe, signaling for them to join them.
Charlotte and Joe looked at each other helplessly and took their seats beside

While Charlotte was eating, a deep male voice sounded. She turned around and
found that the speaker was the college professor.
“Professor Campion,” Charlotte restrained her smile and looked at Professor
Campion with a faint smile.
Leading a little boy, Professor Campion came over, “This is my son, Dennis. He’s
usually a bit introverted. Would it be possible for him to play with Ben and Anna?”
Professor Campion’s face was full of helplessness. If it weren’t for this show, he
might never have found that his son was so reserved outside. He didn’t even
want to try anything. He just wanted to hide in his safe and comfortable zone.
Charlotte looked at the child hiding quietly behind Professor Campion and
smiled, “Of course! The more the kids play, the more familiar they become.”
Seeing Charlotte agree, Professor Campion sighed in relief.
He had always been worried that Charlotte would be dismissive of other children,
considering their very different social circles.
However, he found that Charlotte was also warmly and kindly treating other
children, with not the slightest impatience.
Professor Campion looked at Charlotte thoughtfully, even forgetting his manners
for a moment.
Just then, he felt a weight on his shoulder and turned to see Joe with a poker
face.
“Mr. Smith?”
Professor Campion looked at Joe in surprise, not expecting him to initiate a
greeting.
Joe just glanced at him indifferently and said nothing before walking away.
Professor Campion was puzzled when Neil walked over. Seeing Professor
Campion’s expression, he knew what he was thinking and chuckled, “I heard that
Mr. Smith is deeply in love with Miss Clinton.”
Professor Campion finally understood and couldn’t help but laughn
