Charlotte looked at him and instantly understood. “Is it really bad?”
Joe neither confirmed nor denied, but he solemnly said to Charlotte, “You better
not eat it.”
Charlotte knew that her cooking skills weren’t great either. Seeing Joe’s
response, she didn’t insist anymore.
She felt sorry and wanted to apologize to Ben and Anna, but when she lowered
her head, she realized that the two kids had already disappeared, with no
