As all eyes fell on her, Morgan spoke calmly, “I have a senior fellow who has
been researching hypnosis and psychological suggestions. He should be able
to solve Mrs. Smith’s problem.”
Vincent quickly asked, “Are you talking about Mr. Twain, who just won the
Prestige Achievement Prize?”
Morgan nodded. Her eyes flashing with a trace of loneliness, “If it weren’t for
my mentor’s sudden departure… maybe the winner was him.”
At the beginning of the year, Morgan’s mentor was found dead from a heart
attack at home, and Morgan has yet to come to terms with it.
Joe looked at Charlotte with concern, “Do you want to give it a try? Or let
Jack contact some psychological experts…”
Charlotte didn’t want to make her situation public. She shook her head and
said, “No, let Ms. Heatley’s senior fellow take a look first.”
Morgan nodded, “I’ll contact him right away. Don’t worry; he’s always been
engaged in research in this area, and he can definitely find a way to solve
your problem.”
Charlotte nodded in silence.
Seeing her expression, Morgan added, “Although I can’t solve your problem
of psychological suggestion at the moment, I can give you some methods to
relieve your emotions and relax your brain.”
“Thank you,” Charlotte nodded.
Morgan immediately contacted her senior fellow, who was very interested in
Charlotte’s situation and agreed to come to Burkina Faso to see her in a few
days.
After Morgan left, Joe hesitated to look at Charlotte.
“What’s the matter?” Charlotte looked at him with confusion.
Joe hesitated for a moment and then said, “Your sudden disappearance
recently has been widely circulated, and everyone is very concerned about
you, especially the shareholders of Horizon Group.”
Although he could suppress them, it would be better to let them see her now
that Charlotte was back.
Charlotte was stunned; having lost her memory, she had no idea how to
handle public affairs, and now she was being asked to go to the company…
“Don’t worry; I’ve already arranged for professional managers to temporarily
take your position, you just need to show up,” Joe rea*sured her.
Charlotte knew that she was not only affecting herself but also the lives of
those employees from several companies.
She nodded in agreement, “Alright, no problem.”
The next morning, Joe was waiting for Charlotte in the living room.
Charlotte was surprised when she saw him, “Why are you here?”
Because he had been working overtime to make up for the work that had
piled up while looking for Charlotte, Joe had been busy with work for the past
few days, except for the time he spent with Charlotte.
Every morning, Joe left home early, came back for lunch on time, and spent
the afternoon familiarizing Charlotte with past events or going for a walk.
This routine almost became a habit for both of them, so Charlotte was very
surprised when she saw Joe in the living room.
Joe looked at Charlotte helplessly and said, “Today is your first day back at
the company since you lost your memory, so, of course, I have to accompany
you.”
Charlotte was silent for a moment before thanking him, “Thank you.”
Joe’s face darkened, “I don’t want you to say these two words to me.”
“I’m sorry.”
Charlotte looked at him somewhat helplessly, and Joe let out a deep sigh,
finally saying, “Neither ‘thank you’ nor ‘sorry’ should be what you say to me.”
Charlotte opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.
