Chapter 597 Being Jealous
David had never imagined that Joe would be like this when he was jealous.
As he observed the jealousy burning in the eyes of the distinguished Joe and unable to do anything about it, David’s smile
grew even wider.
“I just spoke a few truths, Mr. Smith. Are you angry?” David shrugged. “I’m here waiting attentively, you know. If you
mistreat her in the slightest, I won’t hesitate to take her away.”
Five minutes later, David was unceremoniously escorted out of the villa by Joe.
Standing in the dim light outside, David turned to look at the brightly lit mansion, chuckling self-deprecatingly.
When he left all those years ago, he knew he and Charlotte were no longer a possibility.
Now that he had returned, it was just his refusal to give up, wanting to give himself one last chance.
The fact proved that Joe wouldn’t give him this opportunity, and the one who had been eagerly watching should have
been him.
After David left, Charlotte planned to go back inside, but she was stopped by Joe’s firm grip.
He trapped Charlotte in her chair, his gaze deep and penetrating. “Dinner with him?”
Charlotte chuckled softly. “It wasn’t just me; it was also Ben, Anna, and Peter…”
Joe slowly leaned closer to Charlotte, a faint scent of alcohol immediately filling her nostrils.
“Not just you; he wants to take my son and daughter too?” Joe’s forehead pressed against Charlotte’s, and the scent of
alcohol lingered around them as if even Charlotte was about to get drunk.
In the distance, insects were chirping, and a gentle breeze blew past them. Charlotte reached out, hooking her fingers
around Joe’s neck. “We just happened to meet at the kindergarten gate. You’re not still jealous of him, are you?”
