She propped her face with one hand, her fingernails gently tracing over the back of Joe’s hand, her eyes revealing a hint
of seduction. “There are some secrets of the Faulkner Family that I cannot mention here. Shall we go upstairs for a more
detailed discussion?”
Joe nodded slightly, and the two of them walked out of the banquet hall, one in front of the other.

“What happened to you today?” Charlotte looked at Joe tentatively. Although he had been calm in front of her, she could
