After a few days, Charlotte and Joe arrived at the police station together.
According to Yeates’s statement, the man who had come to bribe her was an average-looking guy. He seemed to be
taking orders from someone else, frequently exchanging messages with others as if seeking someone’s opinion.
The police decided to have Yeates attempt to contact that man, so they informed Charlotte and Joe to come along. If they
could apprehend that man, they could also determine whether he had any conflicts with them.

Gideon. And me? I’ve been pursuing him for three years, but he wouldn’t even give me a proper glance!”

Joe took a step forward, blocking Yeates’s gaze.
He lowered his gaze, a cold smirk playing on his l*ps. “Starting from when you devised the plan to distance her from
Gideon to later stealing the design plan, who forced you into this? Does this even qualify as being compelled?”

However, Joe didn’t share the same perspective. He looked at Charlotte. “I think it’s more likely that he’s aware of your
whereabouts.”
Charlotte was a little stunned. “Me?”
Joe’s expression grew solemn. “If that’s the case, it’s highly likely the other party knew about us coming for Yeates from
the very first day.”
This would also explain why the other side was cutting off Yeates’s calls decisively now.
