Chapter 32 Zack’s in Prison
Mia was stunned.
In the past, David had joked about marrying her, but Mia didn’t take it seriously. For this time, she could tell he meant it.
“I…” Before Mia could say anything, David pulled her sleeve and stopped her.
“I know you weren’t interested in me. But I… I still dream for a chance…” David started in a hurry but ended up stammering, “Please don’t reject me immediately…at least not now. I can’t handle hearing rejections from you… I sincerely ask you to consider me. I will give you my everything as long as you give me a chance.”
Mia had never seen him like this before, nervous like a boy who had done something wrong.
Mia can’t help laughing. “You left no time for me to reply. Shall I speak now?”
David let go her sleeve and took a step back. “Sorry. Go ahead.”
“I want to say…” Mia withdrew her smile and said seriously, “Because what’s I’ve experienced before, I may not be able to accept another man in my life so quickly…but…”
“…I will try hard to get rid of my shadow as soon as possible.”

David’s eyes lit up.
“Mia, I…”
“But to be honest, I currently only consider you as a fri…”
“That’s enough!” David was wearing a broad smile.
He knew that if she continued, the content would not be what he wanted to hear. But it’s enough to know she had let go her previous relationship.
“I still have something to do, so I’ll leave first.”
David quickly turned around, waved his hand with his back to Mia, and left elegantly.
Early the next morning, Frank called to inform Mia that Zack
had been arrested.
“It is said that he was beaten in a sack on his way back last night, and then was taken away by the police.” Frank briefly explained what had happened to Zack.
Mia didn’t expect that Zack would be caught before she could make any moves.
“Besides, all members of the Chamber of Commerce present yesterday were also caught…”
It was not difficult to bring down Zack, but it was difficult to
throw every member of the Chamber into jail overnight. The tactics and power behind this were astonishing.
Mia knew that David would take action, so she was not too surprised. “Since Zack has already been imprisoned, we can take away what we have prepared for him.”
Frank agreed.
“How are your injuries going?” Mia asked with concern.
“Thank you for your concern, Miss Clinton. Jack sent me to the hospital yesterday.” Frank paused for a moment. “He has been inquiring about your information from me…”
“Don’t worry about him. He won’t bother you anymore.” Mia said certainly.
Someone as proud as Joe would never come back looking for her after she humilating him.
