Despite Gideon’s strong refusal, Lena still fetched iodine to disinfect his
wound.
The dim light illuminated Lena’s profile as she carefully and earnestly cleaned
Gideon’s wound. Gideon suddenly felt warm.
Once again, he realized clearly that the woman before him would be his
future wife, the mother of his child, and a lifelong partner.
“What are you looking at?” After finishing the wound care, Lena lifted her
head and saw Gideon gazing at her with an incredibly tender look.
Gideon smiled with indulgence towards her, “Although the timing is not right
and the occasion is not grand enough, I still want to say it out loud. If one day
you decide to get married, could you consider me first?”

Just as Gideon thought she would reject him, Lena spoke softly. “Okay.”
