Saying so, he took off his suit jacket and put it on me.
The long-lost warmth made my nose tingle, and tears uncontrollably fell from my eyes.

He didn’t say much more either, he took me and left the Conner’s place.
Instead of letting me stay in a hotel, he took me to a duplex in the city. Looking at the decoration of the house, I looked at him, genuinely curious, “This house…”
“I bought it.” he handed me the sl*ppers and said, “It was somewhat inconvenient when I was living at your place, so I bought an apartment and moved out. You can stay here for now, just let me know if you
need anything. Go take a shower first, I’ll make some ginger tea to warm you up.”
He muttered under his breath as he pushed me into the bathroom.
After taking a hot shower, I finally felt alive again. Alexander made ginger tea and urged me to drink it before he started questioning me. He asked why I suddenly decided to leave with Daniel? Why did I say those things to my mother? What happened to me at the border over the past two months?
By then, I didn’t hide anything anymore, I told him everything one by
one.
After listening, he furrowed his brows, looking at me and said, “Such a big thing happened and you didn’t mention anything to me? Tabatha, are you a pig?”
I pursed my l*ps, sighing slightly, “At that time, I thought that if I left the country with Ezra, I might never be able to come back, so I said those harsh words to my mother. I didn’t expect that I could come back, let alone that so many things would happen.”
