“Father!” A deep, roaring voice suddenly came, a voice that was long- lost yet familiar.
My breath hitched sharply as I turned around, only to see Stanley rushing over from outside the electric fence, and a sorrowful Walter, his gaze fixed intently on Michael beside me, who had already stopped breathing, panting heavily.
Seconds later, he looked at me, his gaze falling on the hand in which I held the curved knife. He seemed as if struck by lightning, looking at me in disbelief, his voice hoarse with despair. “Tabatha…”

In just a few seconds, I finally realized what Ezra’s words meant earlier.

Before the curved blade could touch him, I was stopped by him. He seized the hand I was holding the knife with, and turned me around to encircle me in his arms, holding me tightly. He lowered his voice and whispered in my car, “Tabatha, if you kill me, these people won’t survive.”
The people he referred to, of course, were Walter and his group.
I stiffened, staring at the man outside the electric fence whom I hadn’t seen for a long time. He was silent, his eyes glowing red as he watched everything inside the fence.
Elliott had died, the father he had been searching for ten years had also died.
The despair he was feeling at that moment, I couldn’t describe. I knew how much Walter’s heart was aching Suppressing the anger in his heart, he took a deep breath and looked at Ezra, asking, “What exactly do you want to do?”
Ezra didn’t answer my question. Instead, he looked up at the man outside the electric grid and said with a smirk, “Mr. Hinton has come a long way. We failed to welcome him properly. Why don’t we invite Mr. Hinton in quickly?”
Hearing his words, Sebastian gestured to the people behind him, activated the electric grid, and let Walter and his group in.
Walter walked over to Elliott, looking at the breathless corpse, his thin l*ps tightly pressed together. His face was cold and sorrowful, yet not a single tear fell from start to finish. He just calmly squatted in front of Elliott, slowly raising his hand to cover Elliott’s unblinking eyes,
closing them for him.
After calmly finishing everything, he slowly stood up, looked towards us, his gaze heavily falling on me. After a long while, he finally spoke, his voice as low and restrained as ever, “Tabatha, come here.”
