I was thinking about Michael and didn’t press further. I said, “You should go home and apply some medicine. You’ve hurt your face, you need to take care of it.”
She hummed in response, glanced towards the direction of the dark room and said, “Ms. Conner, are you trying to dismiss the two gentlemen guarding the door?”
I nodded. She had been following me these past few days, and had probably guessed what I was planning to do. I didn’t guard against her too much, initially thinking that she was simple-minded and wouldn’t say much even if she knew something.
Seeing me nod, she said, “I’ll go then!”

I hesitated for a moment, paused and said, “I won’t be leaving for now.” I wanted to stay, to find an opportunity to avenge Captain Lucas.
Hearing this, she said, “Then it’s fine, the gentleman cares about you, you will plead for me, so, I will be alright.”
After speaking, she headed straight towards the direction of the dark room. It was unknown what she had said to the two gatekeepers, but they indeed left one after the other.
Seeing the person leave, she waved at me and hurriedly entered the dark room.
