I pursed my l*ps, standing still. Seeing this, he furrowed his brows and in almost an instant, he was by my side. He pulled me into his arms, sat me down on the bed, and said, “Don’t stand too close to the window in the future.”
I frowned, finding him inexplicable.
She just looked at him coldly, “Where is this? Where are you taking me?”
“Border,” he began, “In half an hour, we will be on the high seas.”
I furrowed my brows, realizing what had happened. So, his proposal to have a wedding with me was merely a ruse to distract the police and Walter. His main goal was to get me out of there as quickly as possible. He had put something in that gla*s of milk, which was why I had only just woken up.
“How long has it been since we left River City?” I asked, looking at him.
“Two days ago.”
