Chapter 403 Have You Met Marjorie?
Ezra nodded, without saying a word.
I cast my eyes down and coldly observed the garden outside the window, not intending to say another word to him. However, just a few minutes later, I subtly noticed that something was off.
Outside the window, I saw a familiar face – Stanley.
Not only him, but also other people, all dressed in plain clothes, but I could tell, they were all police. Were they following Ezra?

I pursed my l*ps without speaking. Since Walter had realized that Daniel and Ezra were the same person, it was impossible for him to waver due to my few words. Naturally, he wouldn’t easily let Ezra leave River City again. After all, once he reached the border, it wouldn’t be an easy task to capture him again.
Well, with these police watching, even if Ezra was a madman, he couldn’t possibly be crazy enough to harm others.
Thinking about it this way, my mood had actually improved quite a bit.

Half an hour later, outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, I pursed my l*ps, looking up at the somewhat old building. Thinking back, the last time I was here was two years ago. At that time, Walter and I were not familiar with each other. When we were taking our wedding photos, the photographer emphasized several times for him to smile because his face was too serious. But in the end, when the photos were taken, his face was still very serious. The photo on our marriage certificate was even scarier than the one on his ID card.
Back then, I thought to myself, living with such a cold person for the rest of my life, I didn’t know if I would freeze to death. Now that I think about it, it seems like a very long time ago.
“Do you need me to accompany you inside?” Ezra’s voice came from beside my ear.
I frowned, coldly uttering a single phrase, “Not needed.”
Afterwards, I went straight to the Civil Affairs Bureau. Walter didn’t arrive until about ten minutes later. As our eyes met, I ignored the look in his eyes and said, “You fill out the form. I’ve already discussed the details with the staff. Once you sign, we can get the certificate.”

I handed him the form in my hand, but he didn’t take it. He just looked at me, his voice low and cold, “Tabatha, am I really not worth your trúst?”
A lump formed in my throat, bitter and uncomfortable. I shook my head and said, “No, there’s no trust left between you and me now.”
His brows furrowed into a deep frown, suddenly he grabbed my hand, looking at me he said, “Because of what happened on New Year’s Eve, you chose him? You want to leave with him?”
Seeing the restraint in his eyes, I finally asked, “What about you? Have you met Marjorie?”
Saying I didn’t care, was a lie.
Even though I tried hard to convince myself that everything was a plot by Ezra, I still wanted to ask him in person, was he and Marjorie really as I had seen?
His slender figure paused slightly, his dark eyes deepened, and after a long while, he finally spoke, “That night was an accident.”
Unexpected!
So, the implication was that everything was true.
I didn’t give up, suppressing the discomfort in my heart, I asked, “Didn’t she have an accident at the hospital? Why did you guys go to the hotel afterwards?”
Heaven knows how much courage it took for me to ask these questions.
