Before leaving, I looked at Daniel and said, “Happy Birthday. If you have no plans tomorrow, could you follow mine?”
He gave a faint smile and nodded, “What arrangements?”
I raised an eyebrow and smiled, saying, “Let’s talk tomorrow. I’m going home now. You should go to bed early and not overthink. Remember, flowers and good-food can heal everything. After a full meal and a good sleep, tomorrow will be a new day.”
He paused slightly, then nodded with a faint smile, “Okay.”
I knew I wasn’t good at comforting people. Although this might be a bit harsh, it was the truth after all. I hoped he could take it in.
After saying goodbye, Sebastian and I left the villa’s hall together and went outside to the yard. There was a black off-road vehicle parked outside, and a man in black with a buzz cut was standing outside the yard.
It seemed he had been waiting outside. Seeing us come out, he greeted Sebastian, “Is Brother Yi done with his work?”
Sebastian glanced back at me, looking somewhat displeased at the bald man, and said, “Go in.”

Sebastian looked back at me and smiled, “Ms. Conner, your car will be driven over to you by someone tomorrow. I will take you home tonight.”
I nodded, accepting it.
On the car, curiosity filled my heart and I couldn’t help but ask Sebastian, “Does Mr. Monroe have something to do at this hour?” It was clear that the person just now was going to see Daniel.
But at this point, how could Daniel have met with such a malicious person, and what could they have discussed? Why did it have to be at dawn, and on a birthday no less.
Sebastian said in a soft voice, “He’s not here for business. He’s a friend of the gentleman from Freyhedge, probably here to celebrate the gentleman’s birthday. He arrived too late, and the gentleman didn’t want to refuse him, so he let him in.”
I frowned, who would come for a birthday at this late hour?
Moreover, when I came out just now, I noticed the appearance of that person. He seemed to have been waiting outside all this time, as if he was waiting for Daniel to finish his work before calling him.
I was doubtful, but I also knew that everyone had their own way of handling things. I couldn’t guess others’ thoughts based on my own. With this in mind, I simply stopped overthinking.

Hearing his voice, I glanced at the familiar yard outside, nodded, opened the door, and got out of the car.
“Ms. Conner.” Sebastian’s voice came from behind her after she had only taken a few steps.
I stopped in my tracks and looked back at him, “What’s wrong?”
Looking at me, his face serious and solemn, he said, “Thank you for tonight.”
I pursed my l*ps and smiled, “Thanks? You’re not implying that you’re touched because I ran to cook noodles for Daniel in the middle of the night on his birthday, are you? Don’t be like that, I’m the type who would ship any CP.”
He paused for a moment, momentarily struck dumb with laughter, and said, “I am very grateful to the gentleman, he has helped me a lot.”
Understanding his meaning, I laughed and said, “Got it, you and Mr. Monroe are friends, and so am I. If I didn’t know it was his birthday, it would be fine, but now that I know, it wouldn’t be appropriate if I did nothing. Friends are supposed to support each other through tough times, right? Besides, if I’m feeling down in the future, I might need you guys to be with me too, right?”
He grinned and said, “Right!”
After waving goodbye to him, I went home. It was too late, I didn’t know if my mother and Alexander had returned. I went back to my bedroom and fell asleep shortly after.
The next day, the snow had already stopped, but the thick layer of accumulated snow had not yet melted.
Unlike when it was snowing, on days without snow, the temperature was particularly cold, and most of the roads outside were icy.

I stood by the window for a while before going downstairs. There were bread and milk on the dining table, obviously left by my mother. I had
