Chapter 334 It’s Me, Don’t Be Afraid
A buzz rang in my head and I suddenly lost control, screaming, “Ah!!”
With eyes wide shut in terror, the person retreated back into their office, scared to the point of collapsing by the door.
“Knock, knock…” The sound of knocking came from outside, followed by a man’s anxious voice, “Tabatha, are you okay?”
I snapped back to reality, truly and clearly hearing a familiar voice. My brain froze for a few seconds, then from outside came the magnetic voice of a man, “Open the door, it’s me. Don’t be afraid.”

With the year in mind, my fear dissipated in an instant. I got up with support and opened the office door. The door was blocked by me. I originally wanted to move away, but I was so scared just now that I was disoriented and couldn’t walk away.
The person outside pushed the door, revealing only a crack. He couldn’t get in, his voice filled with confusion, “Tabatha?”
My voice was a bit hoarse as I said, “Wait…wait a moment.”
After some difficulty in moving aside, the person outside came in. The man was tall and imposing, and after entering, he looked at me with full of worry and said, “Are you okay?”

“I’m not hungry,” I replied to him. I had intended to return to my desk, but my legs were somewhat weak and I couldn’t walk properly. So, I simply leaned on something, moved a few steps, and sat down on the rest chair.
Of course, my subtle movement was noticed by Walter. He paused slightly, then laughed helplessly, “Since when have you become so timid?”
At this point, she wasn’t scared anymore, but rather, she was more embarra*sed and angry. She glanced at him sideways and said, “Do you think it’s fun to scare me?”

I ignored him. At this point, I had no mood to continue reading the documents. I sat for a while, waiting for the numbness in my legs to subside. Then, I packed up my things and prepared to leave.
Walter was like a shadow, always following me. I was annoyed with him. I turned around and glared at him, “What do you want?”
He, however, appeared gentle and showed no signs of temper, saying. “I’ll take you to eat. Not eating is bad for the stomach.”
I pursed my l*ps, irritably said, “None of your business.”
He didn’t argue with me, but continued to follow me. I left the office and saw a beautifully bloomed gardenia not far from the office area. I love flowers, especially these well-packaged, fresh and beautiful bouquets, which faintly exuded a floral fragrance. Out of appreciation for beautiful things, I took a few more glances.

Then it dawned on me, it was so late, everyone in the office had
already left. And although I had glanced around carelessly earlier, I did remember, there were no flowers here. This flower wasn’t always here, it was just placed here.
Walter stepped forward, holding the gardenia, and looked at me. “I saw it on the way, it’s very beautiful. I thought you would like it, so I bought it,” he said.
I ignored him, stopped looking at the flowers, didn’t look at him either, and left the office area directly.
Footsteps echoed from behind, I knew it was Walter following me. I didn’t want to talk to him. He followed me all the way to the parking lot. The saying that a good woman fears a persistent man proved to be true.
I lost my patience, turned around and glared at him, “Walter, what on earth are you trying to do?”
He held the flowers, which were beautiful, but he was even more so. Especially since his face was devoid of the usual cold and aloof demeanor, he appeared exceptionally gentle at that moment.
Looking at me, his voice was calm as he said, “I’ve ordered the meal. If you don’t like it, we can go back to the place you wanted to eat at last night.”
