Chapter 302 The Two Who Couldn’t Be Driven Away
“Cough, cough…” I didn’t react in time and choked on my saliva for a
moment.
My mother turned around and glared at me, then looked at Walter and said, “Look at Tabatha, she has no sense at all, letting you starve like this. What do you want to eat, I will make it right now…”
“Auntie Eileen, this will be enough.” Walter spoke, his slender fingers pointing at the food his mother was about to pack up.
Mother hesitated for a moment, then quickly placed the food on the round table next to him, saying, “Try it and see if you like it. These are all things that Tabatha usually likes, I don’t know if they suit your
taste.”
Walter nodded, took the food box, and began to eat naturally and gracefully. He also complimented his mother a few times. Hearing Walter’s praise, his mother was embarra*sed and started to laugh.
I knew, she loved it most when others ate the food she cooked. In her words, seeing others enjoy her cooking gave her a sense of accomplishment. It used to be her father, then it was Alexander, and now I somehow feel like there’s going to be one more.
The ward door was knocked, I looked up and said, “Come in.”
The door to the ward was pushed open, and Daniel was wheeled in, sitting in a wheelchair. Seeing his mother and Walter there, a smile. spread across Daniel’s face as he greeted his mother.

Daniel gave a slight smile, “No problem, just don’t walk.” His gaze fell on Walter, who was eating elegantly. He squinted slightly without saying a word, but turned to me and asked, “Are you okay?”
I nodded, seeing that his expression had improved a bit, and said, “Didn’t the doctor tell you to rest well? Why did you come? I’m fine, I’ll be okay after lying down for a while!
He wheeled over to me in his wheelchair and said, “I was worried, so I came over to ch*ck and put my mind at ease.”
The words spoken were indeed ordinary, but Walter’s dark eyes suddenly turned towards him.
The atmosphere in the ward was inexplicably off, and my mother noticed it too. She quickly smiled and said to Daniel, “Mr. Monroe, have you eaten? I made some food for Tabatha, she just finished eating…” As she said this, she seemed to realize that her words were inappropriate. After all, these were things I didn’t eat, and besides, Walter had just said that he was hungry.
At this moment, mother was speaking to Daniel again, inexplicably, rudely, as if the two of them were nothing.

“Good!” Daniel ‘spoke, without any politeness, “Seeing your dumplings, I really got hungry, they also smell very good.”
Mother moved the plate in front of him with a smile and found him a pair of chopsticks.
Daniel started eating without any hesitation. Walter watched him, slightly frowning, but didn’t say much.
I always felt that the atmosphere was off. How did these two end up cating dumplings in my hospital room?
It was clear that the two of them enjoyed the meal immensely. Daniel kept praising his mother’s cooking skills in various ways, saying that once his injury healed, he would definitely go to the Conner’s place for a meal.
Mother was most fond of others complimenting her cooking skills, she almost agreed without thinking, saying that as long as he went, she would definitely make him something delicious.
Walter didn’t know what came over him, he said to his mother, “Auntie Eileen, I’m also coming over for a meal, you won’t mind, will you?”
Of course, Mother didn’t mind, she invited them all with a smile.
Originally, mother had only made enough food for one person. Now, with two men eating, it was all gone in no time. Mother was happy and after cleaning up the food box, she said she was going to go downstairs to buy some fruit to bring back.
The two men in the ward seemed to have no intention of leaving, and the atmosphere was eerily quiet. After a long while, I couldn’t help but break the silence, “Have you guys had enough to eat?”
