Chapter 274 Driven by Instinct
I was so startled that I quickly spoke up to stop him, “No, this bed is quite good, it’s not uncomfortable.” Afraid that he might really get me a bed, I continued, “Or, let’s watch a TV series, what do you guys want to watch?”
Saying so, I turned on the television in the ward, and then began to look for a TV show to watch.
It seemed that seeing I really didn’t want a new bed, Daniel didn’t say more. Instead, he moved his wheelchair closer to me and asked, “Do you usually like watching shows?”
I shook my head, watching various TV shows on the television, and said, “I rarely watch.” To be precise, I hardly ever watch. I seemed to like them when I was a child, but for some reason, I lost interest in TV shows after college. Of course, I would occasionally watch if the plot was good, but not often.
I hadn’t told these things to Daniel. He chuckled and asked, “So, do you like watching movies?”
I paused, then said, “It’s not exactly that I like it, I’ve seen some that I quite liked before, so, I still watch.”
“Did you find anything you really liked?” He was like this, giving off the vibe of a friend you’d occasionally sit and chat with.
I didn’t think much and nodded, saying, “I used to enjoy watching Pixar animations, but not anymore.”

Somewhat abruptly, his words were interrupted. His face visibly darkened as he glanced sideways at Sebastian. Sebastian quickly apologized, took a few steps back, and went out to answer his phone.
Just a few seconds had pa*sed when Daniel was about to speak to me again, Sebastian came in. This time, there was a hint of gloom on Daniel’s face.
Sebastian seemed a bit afraid of him, but still spoke up, “Mr. Monroe, the doctor called, you need to change your medication.”
After hearing his words, Daniel slightly furrowed his brows, but after a few seconds, he still looked at me with a gentle expression and said, “I’m going to change the medicine first, we’ll talk later.”
I nodded, watching him leave.
Couldn’t help but take a few more glances at Sebastian who went out with him, couldn’t help but wonder in my heart, weren’t these two very good friends? Why is their interaction so strange!
Based on Daniel’s care for me these past few days, he has always emphasized that it was because Sebastian and I were friends, so he took care of me in many ways. But at this moment, looking at him and Sebastian, it didn’t seem as good as he said.

Hearing his voice, I turned my gaze to him, shook my head, glanced at the time, it was already late. Sincerely, I said, “It’s getting late, you should go home early.” Considering my situation, the Hinton Group must have been involved a lot recently, he must have a lot of things to deal with. I’m not that melodramatic, I don’t need him to stay with me all night.
He didn’t pay attention to my words, instead he stood up and walked over to me, looking at me he asked, “Does your back still hurt?”

I was stunned, a bit confused, shaking my head, “No.” What was wrong with him? Why did he suddenly bring this up to me?

I hesitated for a moment, realizing he was referring to the kick I had blocked for Daniel at the entrance of the police station. For a moment, I didn’t know how to respond to him.
Mainly, it seemed that there was no need to explain with the way we were doing things.
I paused, adjusted my emotions, and looked at him. I said, “There’s no such thing as worth or not worth. The temperature in the ward suddenly dropped a few degrees. Glancing at Walter’s face, I realized that his face was frighteningly pale, no, it was frighteningly cold.
“Instinct?” He uttered these two words from his mouth, filled with suppression and coldness.
I nodded, but immediately realized that he might be overthinking.
Wanted to start explaining, but the mind went blank for a moment, not knowing how to explain.
The best time for explanation had pa*sed. Anything he said now would seem like an excuse. Indeed, he suddenly laughed at himself, then abruptly stood up, his voice calm and steady, “When did it start?”
