Chapter 249 Found You Very Charming
Walter pursed his l*ps, squinting his dark eyes, “Could he be foolish enough to go this far?”
Roy nodded, saying, “Indeed, he didn’t do it. The person behind this is Jacob’s daughter, Gianna. The police have already taken Gianna to the police station.”
Hearing this, Walter nodded, didn’t say much, just hummed in agreement and let Roy leave.
I pursed my l*ps, truly unable to believe that Gianna, a girl who had just come of age, would actually hire a killer. It was indeed a bit
inconceivable.
Taking a deep breath, I felt somewhat of a headache.
Walter looked at me, his expression serene, “Don’t overthink it. You stay in the hospital for a couple of days to recover. I’ve taken care of things at the police station. As for Henry’s case, the police should be able to investigate and resolve it quickly.”
I nodded, feeling an indescribable heaviness in my heart. I looked at him and said, “Jacob is dead. Unless there’s concrete evidence that I didn’t kill him, I’m afraid it won’t be easy to deal with Captain Lucas.” After a pause, I added, “Also, something has happened to Gianna. It might be difficult for the sister-in-law to handle.”
After all, Gianna was Emma’s cousin.
As he was saying this, there was a knock on the ward door. Walter spoke in a low voice, “Come in!” After that, the ward door was pushed
open.
It was Emma and William who came, they really did come as soon as they said they would.
Upon seeing the two individuals, Walter and I exchanged a knowing glance. It wasn’t hard to guess that they were here for Gianna.
Emma saw me lying on the bed and quickly asked, “You’re not seriously injured, are you? When William and I found out about this big incident, our hands went limp from fear. Gianna has been spoiled since she was a child, she has lost all sense of proportion. Tabatha, I apologize on her behalf.”
She pulled me aside and said a lot. Looking at her, I forced a smile and said, “I wasn’t hurt there, Walter got there in time and saved me. Don’t worry, how’s grandma?”
When I left in the morning, Walter didn’t come with me because of an incident with the old lady. It was only when I calmed down that I remembered about the old lady’s situation.
Emma nodded, saying, “Grandma’s side is fine, someone is always taking good care of things there. You, on the other hand, scared me to death.”
I smiled faintly, truly not very good at discussing these pleasantries.
Speaking of this, Emma glanced at Walter, paused for a moment, and hesitated for a few seconds before saying, “Walter, it’s true that Gianna acted impulsively, but my aunt only has one daughter. She’s just come of age and is facing prison, I’m afraid her life will be ruined. Could you possibly show some leniency?”
Saying this, she looked at me and said, “Tabatha, could you please not appeal this time? I promise, I’ll have her apologize to you. You can punish her however you want, just don’t let her go to jail, okay?”
I knew she would plead for Gianna, but hearing her say this, I was

Looking at her, I pursed my l*ps and calmly said, “Sister-in-law, you said I could punish her in any way, but if I were to personally punish her, I would do to Gianna what was done to me. I would tie her hands. and feet, lock her in a car, and then set the car on fire, letting her perish within. This kind of punishment, I ask, could you and your aunt accept it? Of course, I would also have to ask the police if they would allow me to do this.”
A look of surprise mixed with coldness was on her face. She hesitated. for a moment, knowing she couldn’t provide an answer.
I continued to speak, “Sister-in-law, people always have to pay for their actions. You also said that Gianna was spoiled, but can this excuse protect her for a lifetime? She has now reached the point of hiring a killer. This time I was lucky to survive, but what if I had died? She would now be carrying a life on her shoulders. Emma was rendered speechless, her face a picture of helpless despair.
The room was silent. Emma had originally come to plead, but at this point, I had already said what I needed to say. She didn’t continue to argue, instead, she changed the subject and talked about something else.
After seeing off Emma, Walter squinted at me with a smile.
Her gaze made my scalp tingle a bit, I couldn’t help but ask, “What’s Wrong?”
He raised an eyebrow, his thin l*ps curling up, “Suddenly, I find you very charming.”
