Exposing the Charade of Deep Affection by Y.Flash Chapter 247

Chapter 247 Could Only Wait for Death

Helplessly, I could only rummage through the car, trying to find something of my own.

“Puff…” A faint sound of a tiny spark exploding after burning rang out. It was small, but I heard it.

Stunned for a moment, I also noticed that the temperature inside the car was a few degrees higher than before. Subconsciously, I looked out the car window, only to see that at some point, clusters of flames had surrounded the car. The wind was strong in the mountains, and the sparks that ignited all around were blown into the surrounding forest and bushes.

In almost an instant, trees all around were set ablaze. Accompanied by strong winds and the scorching sun, the fire became uncontrollable.

In just a few short minutes, the car was filled with thick smoke.

“Cough, cough…”

In an instant, I felt my nasal and ch*st cavities filled with thick smoke. A slight breath made my throat and nasal cavity hurt so much that I couldn’t breathe.

I wanted to save myself, but when there was no fire, I couldn’t find a way to do so. Now that the fire is spreading, how could I possibly find a way to save myself?

The smoke was fierce. In a short moment, I only felt a dull pain in my ch*st and difficulty in breathing. My lungs were instantly enveloped by the thick smoke, and even the slightest breath brought a sharp pain.

The entire person was unable to make a sound, nor could they muster any strength.

I knew, if this car kept burning, it would explode, and without a shred of doubt, I would die here, blown to pieces along with it.

Even if I wanted to ask for help, it seemed like I could only wait helplessly for death now.

Realizing that I would die here, it wasn’t fear I felt, but helplessness and unwillingness. There were still too many things I hadn’t finished, I didn’t want to die just like that.

But after all, I didn’t have a golden finger. I was just the most ordinary one among the ma*ses. Faced with such a situation, I could only wait for death.

Everything in front of me had already become a blur. The extreme lack of oxygen in my brain and lungs left me feeling weak all over, my vision was poor, and even my consciousness was blurry.

Some said that after death, the first sense to disappear among the five senses is hearing. It seemed to be the case. In the darkness, I felt as if I was trapped in a bottomless black hole, unable to scream, unable to struggle.

The only things that could be felt were the sound of the wind,

sometimes far, sometimes near, and the sound of the raging fire. There also seemed to be a “bang, bang!” sound.

Bang bang…

It was the sound of car windows being smashed, sometimes distant, sometimes close. I couldn’t hear clearly anymore, my consciousness gradually fading away.

When I woke up again, I felt as if my ch*st and throat had been

scorched, causing unbearable pain. The functioning of my b*dy’s cells made me cough uncontrollably, as if trying to expel all the thick smoke from my lungs.

Someone gently patted my back beside me, then put something on me. I just felt a breath of fresh air, with each inhale and exhale, penetrating my internal organs. After breathing like this three or five times, I

gradually regained consciousness and saw that what was on my mouth and nose was an oxygen mask

There was a man in a white coat beside me, presumably a doctor.

Seeing me wake up, the doctor gave a faint smile, the tense expression on his face clearly showing a sigh of relief.

“Tabatha.” A man’s deep, magnetic voice came from behind my ear. I recognized it as Walter’s. I turned around, meeting his profound gaze.

The man, with bloodshot eyes and a deathly pale face, held me in his arms. His handsome face was smeared with a layer of soot, making him look like he had just come out of a chimney. His not-so-long black hair, especially the part that hung over his forehead, was almost gone, singed by the fire, leaving large patches of dark yellow. It looked strange, yet oddly attractive.

“Da!” Suddenly, a cool warmth spread across my cheek, ticklish. I raised my hand to touch it, it was damp. I met the man’s dark eyes, and at that moment, a misty moisture veiled his attractive eyes.

He…shed tears?

After inhaling oxygen, my throat and lungs felt much better. Looking at the person in front of me, I couldn’t help but speak, “I’m fine, you… don’t cry.”

My throat was still uncomfortably hoarse, but it didn’t affect my

speaking anymore.

The man beside me didn’t speak, suddenly he held me tightly in his arms, his b*dy slightly trembling, as if he was trying hard to suppress his emotions.

The doctor who was originally attending to me got up and walked away, the rest of the people all turned their heads to look elsewhere. I patted Walter’s broad back, my heart involuntarily warmed,

accompanied by a sour and choked feeling.

After a while, I was having trouble breathing from his embrace, I couldn’t help but speak up, “Walter, I can’t breathe.”
