There was no response from the other side, after a slight pause, they asked, “What does Ms. Conner want to eat?”
While I was speaking, someone pushed the door open. It was a staff member dressed in a cheongsam, who handed me the menu.
I had intended to be polite to the person across from me, but the person across from me said, “Ms. Conner, just order what you like, don’t mind me, I’ve already ordered.”
Seeing this, I nodded slightly, casually ordered a few dishes, and looking at the blurry shadow behind the screen, I said, “Mr. Monroe,

I just arrived in River City to develop, and there might be many things that will trouble Ms. Conner in the future. I hope that Ms. Conner won’t find me annoying. Of course, rest a*sured, Ms. Conner, I won’t trouble you with anything inappropriate or illegal.”
I nodded slightly, with too many doubts in my heart. But I couldn’t even see the face of the person across from me clearly, so I really didn’t know how to talk to him.
The waiter served the dishes, and Sebastian did not appear until dinner was finished.

It wasn’t until someone came in to remind Daniel across the table that it was getting late and he should go rest, that the man across spoke up, “Ms. Conner, it’s getting late. I’ll arrange for someone to take you home later. I hope we can keep in touch more in the future.”
I looked at the blurry figure across from me and hummed in response. After uttering a few polite words, the person across from me suddenly spoke, “Ms. Conner, it seems we haven’t exchanged contact information yet. Would you mind giving me your phone number?”
He took the initiative to bring it up and I found it hard to refuse, so I nodded and said, “Okay.” As I was saying this, I took out my phone from my bag, wondering how to leave my contact information for him, when a man in a black suit stepped out from beside the screen and handed me a phone.
Seeing this, I took the phone, saved my number on it, and then returned the phone to the man in black.
The man in black said two words in a measured tone, “Thank you.”
Afterwards, he took the phone and walked around the screen to the other side.
Daniel’s voice came next, calm and natural, “Ms. Conner, we’ll see each other another day.”
I nodded in response, “Okay!”
For a moment, I hesitated. Should I leave first? Or should I wait for him to leave before I go?
Seeing that it didn’t move, I picked up my bag, said goodbye again, and left the private room by walking around the screen.

She pouted, clearly annoyed, and pulled out some dollars from her bag and threw them at me, saying, “You’re so ungracious. You just want money, right? Just say it. Here, take it. I’m rewarding you, beggar.”
