My heart gave an uncontrollable thud. I thought to myself, when did this person start standing here?
“You…” I was just about to speak.
Walter turned around and left without a word, his face cold.
I signed, turning back to glare at Alexander, angrily saying, “Why didn’t you tell me when he came?”
Alexander looked innocent, “I just saw it too. Besides, didn’t you say you have no feelings for him anymore? Why do you care if he’s angry

“Alright, you just said it was about Carley, what do you mean?” Alexander looked at me, full of curiosity.

I shook my head, calmly saying, “I know Carley too well. She’s someone who knows how to weigh the pros and cons. Even if she realized that I was more suitable for Walter than Ashley, she wouldn’t suddenly show me kindness in the face of absolute interests.”
Alexander’s handsome brows furrowed slightly, he fell silent for a moment before saying, “Are you suggesting that Carley from the Hinton family was kind to you because Ashley’s presence might have threatened the Hinton family, and Carley wanted to use you to drive Ashley away?”
I pursed my l*ps, let out a slight sigh, and said, “I don’t know, but based on my understanding of Carley, something must have happened between them that I don’t know about.”
“That’s easy,” Alexander leaned back, looking relaxed. “If you want to know what happened, just ask. If you can’t get the answer, then look it up. There are no secrets in this world that can’t be uncovered. As long as you search, you can find out the truth.”

Unable to hear my voice, he looked at me, seeing only my silent smile. Suddenly, he stiffened, his face alert as he said, “Tabatha, you’re not thinking of having me investigate, are you?”
I nodded.
He held his forehead, looking speechless, “Sis, are you kidding me? Don’t you know how long I’ve been in River City? I know very little about the aristocrats and wealthy families in River City. Besides, there are a bunch of things waiting for me to deal with at the Conner Group. You want me to investigate those trivial matters, is this how you use people?”
After his sarcastic comment, I couldn’t help but touch my nose guiltily and laughed, “It does seem a bit wasteful, huh.”
He glanced at me and said, “I give up on you.”
He despised me, and I just smiled. Thoughts began to form in my mind. It was indeed a waste of his talent to let him investigate these trivial matters, but perhaps I could go and ask around.
Thinking of this, I got up and went downstairs.
“Where are you going?” Alexander opened his mouth behind me.
“Downstairs, sunbathing.” I replied to him. The elevator door opened and I went straight in.
He stood up, ready to follow me. I quickly pushed him and looked up at his stunned handsome face, saying, “It’s full, wait for the next one.” Then I quickly pressed the close door button.
His mouth twitched as he looked at the empty elevator space behind me, “Tabatha, are you sure it’s full?”
I nodded, my expression unchanged, and said, “Hmm, can’t you see? It’s full of people inside.”
His eyes widened, his complexion somewhat off as he said, “Are you serious? I’m a materialist, don’t talk nonsense.”
With a serious expression, I nodded, holding back a laugh as I looked at his unnatural face, waiting for the elevator doors to close.
Mother said Alexander was the most timid, and it did seem a bit true. upon observation.
After getting off the elevator, I found Dale, who was dispensing medicine, in the lobby. Seeing me, Dale came over and asked, “Madam, do you need a prescription?”
I shook my head, smiling faintly, “No. I came down to ask if you’ve prepared the medicine? Walter has booked the restaurant, we might need someone to go ahead and arrange things.”
He nodded and said, “It will be ready soon.”
I hummed in agreement, standing with him at the pharmacy counter. While waiting, I laughed and asked, “Dale, I haven’t seen Odin these past few days. Has he been busy lately?”
