I nodded.
It was still early, so I contacted the lawyer who had worked with my father before his death, using the contact information my mother had given me, and arranged a meeting.
Drafting a divorce agreement wasn’t difficult. All I wanted was to divorce Walter, I didn’t need anything related to him or the Hinton family. So, as long as Walter signed, our marital relationship would be completely dissolved.

After speaking, that charming face turned towards me, revealing a hint of provocation. She was declaring her sovereignty to me.
I ignored her, just wanting to laugh inwardly, a new house?
It was easy to guess, Walter had probably settled her somewhere nearby, most likely for the convenience of taking care of her.
Ashley left, and Walter didn’t rush to speak. Instead, he walked over to me, reached out his hand to pull me, and said, “It’s cold outside, let’s talk inside.”
I avoided him, took a few steps back, and created some distance between us.
Ignoring the furrow in his brow, I handed him the divorce agreement.
