Chapter 33 The Banquet Night
“I respect your choice.” Kelly, on the other end of the phone, spoke briefly, “Call me if you need” anything. I’m always here.”
“Thanks.”
As soon as Gianna hung up Kelly’s call, Kaylee came over. “Baby, what are you going to do? That bitch is really annoying!”
“Chaim is going to take me to the banquet held by the Silver Chamber of Commerce tomorrow night. At that time, all the prominent families in Silver City will be there. I want to teach her a lesson in public!”
Kaylee encouraged Gianna and exclaimed, “Baby, that’s what you should do! Slap them in the face!”
At the banquet night.
Plenty of lookers were in the hall. The lights were dazzling. The guests present were chatting and drinking, creating a lively scene.
Gianna arrived late. She was wearing a luxurious handmade diamond–encrusted dress, which perfectly complemented her exquisite figure. She looked so elegant and eye–catching that people were unable to take their eyes off her.
Her makeup was delicate and pretty, betraying a hint of her aloof and domineering aura. Seeing that it was her, the ladies who read the gossip news all started a discussion.
Alaia was holding champagne in her hand. Her friends came over, and their faces were full of curiosity and ridicule. “Alaia, is Gianna really your sister–in–law as the trending news said?” “Yeah, she looks very similar to the woman in those photos. She is indeed good–looking.”
“Bah! Does she deserve to be my sister–in–law?” Alaia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “Levi divorced her long ago!”
On the other side, Gianna glanced around and searched for Alaia. With a slight smile, Gianna walked towards her slowly.
“Back then, she was an ordinary owner of a boutique. She intervened between Levi and Naomi. She insisted on being a third party and shamelessly married into my family. Anyway, we failed to drive her away.
“Levi never slept with her. She worked in the company during the day and worked as a servant at home at night. She was just a free housemaid.”
As Alaia spoke, she grew excited. She turned around to the bar for a drink to quench her thirst. “This time, she went to Dubai and hooked up with a wealthy man. Immediately, she fell out with Levi and wanted a divorce. She is a cheating and flirtatious woman!”
The young ladies listened to her with gusto, When they turned their faces and saw Gianna had already walked over, they were all overwhelmed by her frightening aura and dared not speak out to remind Alaia. Only Alaia kept talking.
“Do you think she is shameless?”
Chapter 33 The Banquet Night
Gianna was holding champagne in one hand, and her eyes were icy. She was taller than Alaia. Gianna sized Alaia up and sneered slightly, “Why don’t you continue talking? I’m listening.” Alaia was still stubborn, pretending not to be cowardly. “I’m telling the truth. Levi is going to marry Naomi soon, and that’s the right marriage. It’s better than marrying an ordinary woman like you!”
“Levi and I just divorced a few days ago, and Naomi is three months pregnant. Don’t you understand who the cheating person is?” Gianna asked with a sneer.
Sienna, who was chatting with someone, rushed over and pulled Alaia to her side.
Her voice was sharp and piercing, and she arrogantly pointed at Gianna’s nose and cursed, “You are a damn infertile woman. How dare you have the nerve to blame Levi? Naomi can give birth to my grandson. Can you do it?”
She still wanted to scold Gianna but was stopped by Levi, who suddenly appeared. “Enough!” Sienna looked around and realized that there really shouldn’t be such a big fuss, so she shut her mouth resentfully.
Levi heard Alaia and Sienna’s scolding voices from a long distance away. Their scolding was so unbearable, but Gianna, on the opposite side, did not fluctuate in emotion, as if she had already gotten used to it.
Compared with this, Levi cared more about the truth in those words…
He suppressed his irritability and asked the woman who divorced him in a deep voice, “Is what they said true? You have been a servant in the Rivera family for three full years?”
Gianna’s eyes under her long eyelashes swept across Levi and Naomi. She sneered, “Don’t you believe what your mother and sister say the most? Why are you asking me now?”
