Shawn’s eyes grew cold as he heard it. He shook the goblet in his hand while observing the red wine inside swirl.
He was still not over how Gianna’s former mother–in–law and sister–in–law treated her.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Fallon!” Alaia didn’t seem to sense the mood was wrong and extended her right hand towards Shawn.
However, Shawn had no intention of shaking hands with her after a long moment of silence. Alaia felt a little embarra*sed and withdrew her hand. “Mr. Fallon, you’re so promising! As soon as those words left Alaia’s l*ps, Gianna slapped her hard across the face, leaving a handprint.
Alaia covered her cheek with her hand in disbelief, looking as if she was going to fight Gianna. “Gianna, how dare you hit me!”
Shawn quickly grabbed her wrist when she was about to charge at Gianna.
“Ms. Rivera, please behave yourself!”
“You just insulted me. I have no choice but to teach you a lesson. After all, we are all adults who must bear the consequences of our acts,” Gianna continued, staring at Alaia coldly.
“How dare you!” Alaia wanted to resist, but she could break free from Shawn’s grip.
