“What happened to her?” Bryan asked his aunt as he crouched down to Catherine’s level on the floor.
“I have no idea. She just slumped on the floor all of a sudden” She said in a panicking tone.
Bryan scooped her up in his arms and rushed to one of the rooms downstairs with Aunt Capella and me trailing behind him. After laying her gently on the bed, he brought out his phone to dial someone’s number but his Aunt was very quick to stop him.
“What are you trying to do?”
“Of course, I’m trying to dial the doctor’s number. She needs a medical check–up right now” Bryan answered.
“You don’t have to worry about that. I called Joseph already. He will be here in a jiffy” She said.
Huh? She called Joseph. Who is Joseph and why didn’t I see her using her phone?
Could she be lying or what?
A few minutes passed then we heard a knock on the door. Aunt Capella hurriedly got the door open and rushed the doctor in.
After checking her pulse for a few minutes, he announced that it was nothing too serious. She fainted because of too much stress from work and needs a lot of rest. Not only that, she will be needing someone to always be there for her for the next few days.
Like seriously?
Of all days, why would she decide to faint here in my house? Why can’t she do that in her father’s house?
And, why do I feel like all these are nothing but a scheme? For some weird reason, it doesn’t look real to me.
If she had truly fainted, wouldn’t her face be white or look sick? Why does she look beautiful more? Like some beauty who has just fallen asleep.
So, you’re saying that she doesn’t need a drug or what? When is she going to wake up? She can’t continue to be like this on the bed forever! Do something to wake her up He complained in a worried tone. And for some weird reason, I felt a strike on my ch*st seeing

“You don’t have to worry, Mr Samuel. She will be back to normal in an hour but before then, I will have to inject her and write down the drugs she will have to take for the next three days. Also, the medication has to start tonight. Meaning, you have to get the drugs as soon as possible right after I leave here”
“Sure. Do whatever you can, just make sure she opens her eyes “Bryan said again.
When the doctor was done, he wrote the drug prescription and left after giving it to Bryan. Aunt Capella also told him she would send his payment or whatever to him. I don’t care to
know.
What’s more important and bothering me right now is the way Bryan is acting. He’s making it look like they’re both lovers or something. He acts all caring and looks worried too.
“Aunt Capella, you stay with her until she wakes up, I will go get the drugs” he said, taking the prescription paper from the bed and ready to leave the room. He didn’t even spare me a glance. Like, I was invisible to him or something.
“No, Bryan. You stay with her. Emily and I will go get the drugs”
“But you-”
“Two of your guards can go with us if you don’t feel comfortable with us leaving all by ourselves. Besides, it’s not that late yet, this is just past 8 pm”
“Are you sure about this?” He asked, still not convinced by her assuring words.
“I’m sure of what I just said. Just stay with her till she wakes up” In a swift move, she took the
paper
from him and dragged me out of the room with her even before I could protest.
We got into the car and on our way to the nearest pharmacist, I could feel Aunt Capella’s eyes. on me. I tried to wave it off my mind thinking it was just my hallucination but the gut feeling won’t stop. I’m just too positive that she’s staring at me. Slowly turning my head to look at her, her gaze was still fixed on me and she didn’t even blink an eye.
She looked confident even after I caught her staring at me with those killing eyes of hers. Aunt Capella, is there a problem? Did I do anything wrong?” I asked.
“You’re my problem! And yes, you did everything wrong! Everything about you is just wrong! What in the world have you done to my nephew?” She burst angrily.

Okay, I think this is the height of it all. I’ve heard enough of her bullying and trying to paint me black all the time. I have never wronged her. All I’ve ever done was to respect her but, what did I get in return? Nothing except trampling on me all the time.
I’ve always been quiet but this time around, I won’t allow trample on me like she always did.
“Can you just stop it already?!” I suddenly blurted, giving her a hard stare.
“What?!”
“Yes… Just stop doing this to me. You keep repeating the same thing all the time and I’m getting fed up by your attitude towards me. What exactly have I done to deserve this horrible treatment from you? I have never hurt you or Bryan in any way so, why do you develop so much hatred for me?”
“You do not need to know why I despise you. Knowing that I hate you is enough for me. Look here, Emily, that girl in there, is the girl I want for Bryan. Her family has done a lot of goo deeds for Bryan and I and the only way to pay them back in a good way is to make him marry her. It’s either her or no one else
“Are you trying to tell me that you want to enforce your choice and opinion on Bryan?
“Of course, I will. After all, he is my son‘

“What?! Do you know how hard it was for me to train him? I did a lot –”
“No matter what you did for him in the past, you still do not deserve to be called his mother because if you do regard him as your son like you claimed, you wouldn’t have tried to force a woman who cheated on him countless times with his best friend! For goodness sake, she hurt Bryan badly. She made him feel worthless but yet, you’re still trying your best to force someone like that on him?”
“That’s enough. You know nothing about what had happened between them in the past “She said and I ended up shaking my head pitifully at her.
