Cedric couldn’t do it?!

Natalie turned and walked inside. 

“Nat, do you have to do this?” 

Cedric was talking about Kayla. Ever since Kayla came into his life, Natalie seemed unwilling to let go of anything pertaining to her. 

Kayla was just a child! 

Seeing Natalie’s intense hostility towards the child and thinking about Kayla’s dependence on Natalie, Cedric immediately felt a pang of pain go through his heart. 

Natalie didn’t answer his question and continued walking in. 

How exactly were things between Natalie and Kayla?

At noon, Irwin had yet to return. 

At the table, a young maid brought the soup Natalie usually drank at Lotus Villa and prepared some dishes that Natalie loved.

“It was all brought over from Verde City,” the young maid explained.

‘Did he come to see you today?” 

‘Don’t you already know?” Natalie’s tone grew cold. 

Irwin responded, “Wexford is chaotic. I need to ensure everything is in order here for you.” 

His voice remained gentle, devoid of any discernible emotion. 

Natalie scoffed, “You always say the nicest things, don’t you?” 

Having known Irwin for so long, Natalie had to admit that his sweet talk was incredibly potent 

and terrifying. 

She turned around, and Irwin tightened his grip around her waist. 

“I’m saying these things for you.” 

“Yes, sure. For me!” Natalie said through gritted teeth. 

Irwin felt exasperated.
