Chapter 240 Despair 

Cedric didn’t wake up until the next day’s evening. 

Outside the window, the cold rain carried the scent of earth. Even the wind seemed damp. 

The moment he opened his eyes, the stark white light stung his eyes. Memories in his mind kept pulling at 

his b*dy, causing a numbing pain all over. 

Rebecca was sitting on a chair by the bedside, already asleep. The moment she heard movement and 

opened her eyes, she saw Cedric running barefoot towards the exit. 

Alarmed, she called out, “Ced, where are you going?”

The moment they stepped out of the ward, they saw Cedric entering the elevator at the far end of the 

corridor.
