Chapter 164 Arrogant Bastard

The atmosphere in Verde City was suddenly confusing, like navigating through a maze.

Christina personally escorted Isabella to Sapphire. She had also arranged for two servants to care for

Isabella.

Isabella sat in the apartment’s lobby. The journey here was bumpy, surrounded by darkness. Now, in this new environment, even the air felt unfamiliar.

Christina was on a call on the balcony.

“Alright, I understand!” Her tone sounded unpleasant, and her expression was even worse. Hanging up the

phone, a fierce look flashed in her eyes.

Natalie…!

Was this matter not over yet?

Just as Natalie thought, Christina also believed that once Cedric and Natalie divorced, it would be the

end for them.

But who would have expected Cedric to act like this?!

Christina glared fiercely at Isabella, who looked lifeless inside. With a loud bang, Christina almost

slammed the glass door off its hinges.

Her high heels clacked against the floor as Christina walked in. Despite the anger in her movements, she still displayed an elegant and graceful demeanor.

The only thing that didn’t match her temperament was the sinister glint in her eyes.

She approached Isabella and said, “Seems like you’re only capable of this much!”

Previously, she thought that Cedric would eventually divorce Natalie because of Isabella’s situation.

Now, it seemed that wasn’t the case.

Since Isabella was discharged from the hospital, Cedric hadn’t visited her. He had handed Isabella’s care

over to the family.

It was, indeed, as he said before. He only cared for Isabella solely because of Ivan.

When Isabella heard this, a mocking smile spread on her l*ps. “Cedric has settled everything regarding me. So, he should be with Natalie now, right?”

Christina remained silent.

‘Christina, no matter how hard you try, you will never be the Johnson family’s young mistress!”

Isabella’s words were met with a slap on her face. Instantly, a clear handprint appeared on her cheek.

“Enjoy your last moments here!”

“Wait!”

Just as Christina turned away, Isabella tilted her head toward her and smirked. “Who do you think can

separate Natalie from Cedric now?”

“Jocelyn? Or you?”

“Shut up!” Christina snapped angrily.

The relationship between her and Cedric was like a taboo! Over the years, she had been following her own plans, never allowing outsiders to interfere.

“Go back and think it over, hm?” Isabella found satisfaction in Christina’s frustration.

She came to Verde City only to eliminate Natalie. She didn’t expect Christina, who had the backing of the Johnson family, to be so insane.

When Christina turned away, Isabella asked once again, “My eyes… You had something to do with them, didn’t you?”

At this, Christina halted in her steps.

Looking back at Isabella disdainfully, she said, “You’re somewhat clever, huh? But go ahead and tell people, no one will believe you.”

“That’s true. After all, you’re the obedient daughter of the Johnson family. If Natalie couldn’t deal with you, how could I?”

“It’s good that you know that!”

Hmph! Christina snorted and left.

As the security door clicked shut, a sinister expression appeared on Isabella’s face.

Christina…!

When she learned that there was no hope for her eyes, she once suspected Natalie’s involvement…!

However, upon careful reflection, Isabella realized that Natalie displayed a detestable sense of arrogance and aloofness in every confrontation with her.

Someone with such a demeanor wouldn’t stoop to such actions.

It was only after learning about Christina’s feelings toward Cedric that Isabella understood it was her!

Regardless of what Natalie or she had encountered, Christina had been the one to orchestrate it all.

The maid brought out the prepared meal.

“Ms. Morgan, it’s time to eat,” she said with a respectful tone.

In this aspect, the Johnson family didn’t mistreat Isabella. Although Christina hired these people, Rebecca was the one who had called them and given instructions.

Besides, things were just starting. There were many aspects that had yet to be revealed.

Isabella knew that with Christina around, her days wouldn’t be easy.

How could she willingly accept this?!

“Can I use the phone?” Isabella asked.

The maid looked hesitant. “I’m sorry, Ms. Morgan. Ms. Johnson said you can’t contact anyone.”

At this, a stormy look flashed across Isabella’s face. Christina had clearly confined her.

Who did this woman think she was? 

“I got it. It’s fine.”

Thank you for understanding, Ms. Morgan,” the maid said, visibly relieved.

She had seen how difficult Ms. Johnson could be in the kitchen and didn’t want to imagine dealing with her if anything happened!

Meanwhile, on the other side, Natalie had been restless all afternoon until she received a call from Zane. He informed her that the officials had left and found nothing.

It seemed that Cedric hadn’t submitted those papers he got his hands on and simply anonymously reported the matter to the authorities.

“Okay, I got it.”

“From now on, start delegating out the tasks you have on hand. Let me handle these consequences for

you.”

“Alright.”

After hanging up the phone, Natalie picked up the cup in front of her and took a sip, alleviating the tension

in her chest.

She had to admit that if today’s situation hadn’t been handled properly, it would have caused significant

trouble.

Cedric was truly ruthless!

Karina entered the room. “Ms. Walker.”

“What is it?”

“Mr. Johnson’s assistant, Lucas, is here.”

Lucas?

It had always been Yuvan before.

Natalie wasn’t sure where Yuvan had gone, but Lucas has been carrying out most of Cedric’s orders lately.

“Let him in!”

Despite her discontent, Natalie understood that now was not the time to confront Cedric directly.

Karina left the room. After a while, Lucas entered.

He said respectfully, “Madam, Mr. Johnson is waiting for you downstairs.”

“Lucas.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Don’t you know that I already divorced him? Why are you still calling me that?”

Natalie couldn’t express her anger in front of Cedric but didn’t need to be polite to his subordinates.

To her surprise, Lucas responded, “It was Mr. Johnson’s Instructions.

Natalie slammed the cup on the table, revealing her current frustration. If possible, she would have loved

to tear that man to pieces!

“Let’s go!”

She stood up, grabbing her bag. The force in her movements carried a sense of resentment.

Lucas reached out. “Allow me.”

“No need. I can carry it myself.”

“Mr. Johnson’s instructions are clear. You’re not to use or wear anything he didn’t buy for you.”

Thunk!

Natalie threw her bag directly at Lucas.

“Consider it a gift. It should fetch a good price!”

Natalie was speechless.

Outside the company, Cedric’s imposing figure drew attention. Passersby couldn’t help but take a second look as they walked past him.

However, Natalie was already used to it.

In the car, an arm reached out for her. He pulled her into an embrace, and a familiar scent reached her

nose. 

“Let me-

“Are you sure you want to finish that?” Cedric spoke before she could complete her sentence, his tone still carrying a hint of threat.

Her frustration had built up all afternoon.

Natalie couldn’t help but burst out, “Cedric, if you were a real man, you wouldn’t need to threaten me!”

Threaten you? Don’t you find it amusing?”
