Chapter 92
Amidst the quiet night, there was a sound of running water in the bathroom. Mayra’s cold body was enveloped by the warmth of the water.
In the bathtub, Mayra was too exhausted to lift her hand. She leaned against the man sitting on the edge of the tub and groggily opened her eyes.
She saw the hand with distinct–knuckles wearing a silver ring, holding a clean towel and wiping away the dirt from her arms.
The hand accidentally touched a wound, and Mayra woke up from the pain. Feeling the presence beside her, she called out, “Andy, it hurts.”
Anderson paused his action, then lightened his touch. “You just won’t listen. I’ll break your legs if you run around again.”
Mayra was so tired that she didn’t catch what he said. She closed her eyes and fell asleep again.
While on the run outside, she had never gotten a good night’s sleep. She didn’t know how she fell asleep every night. When she jumped into the river, she almost got swept away by the current. It took her a great deal of effort just to climb ashore.
Julia walked into the bathroom with a medical tray and froze at the sight inside. Why was Anderson here? But she quickly reacted and said, “Let me handle this, Mr. Anderson. After all, you’re already engaged to Ms. Fisher. People will gossip if this gets out.”
Anderson stared at Julia with a threatening gaze. “Just keep your mouth shut. If you don’t talk, no one will know.”
Julia lowered her head in silence and stood aside. “Yes, Mr. Anderson.”
After cleaning her up, Anderson lifted Mayra out of the bathtub and wrapped her in a bathrobe. He then placed her in front of the dressing table, helping her blow–dry her hair.

Julia pursed her lips. “Okay.”

After putting down the medical supplies in her hand, she walked out of the room. Her gaze lingered on the figure inside, conveying a mix of emotions. Yet, she could only shake her head in resignation.
Mayra was annoyed by the buzzing sound of the hairdryer in her ears. She didn’t know how long it had been before she was lifted again. Finally, she could sleep on the soft bed.
Anderson used iodine to disinfect the wounds all over her body.
Lying on the bed, Mayra felt the pain stimulated by the disinfection. When she saw his hand untying the bathrobe on her body, she grabbed him. ” You’ll see me naked if you untie it. You can’t do this, Andy.”
“Your wounds are infected and need medication. Stay still, okay?” His voice was low as he coaxed her.
Seeing her hand not letting go, he continued, “When I was injured before, you helped me with the medicine. Now that you’re injured, I should do the same. Be good and you’ll feel better soon.”
In fact, this kind of situation wasn’t uncommon. When Mayra was younger, she had always pestered Anderson to bathe her.
They had seen each other naked countless times. However, each time was out of necessity or care for the other, so there were no inappropriate thoughts or intentions involved.
Feeling her hand loosen slightly, Anderson smoothly untied the belt around her waist. He disinfected her wounds and applied ointment to them. The cool sensation reduced her pain.
“Andy, don’t be mad at me. I won’t run away again next time. It was too dark outside. Don’t give me away to someone else. H–He’ll lock me up…”
Anderson noticed that her eyes were closed. She was asleep and murmuring in her sleep.
Chapter 92
In her dream, Mayra felt her body burning. She wanted to find a
comfortable position to lie in, but she was unable to move. After several attempts, she gave up moving altogether.
In the latter part of the night, she dreamed of being in the water. She was unable to grasp anything. In a panic, she flailed on the surface.
She slept restlessly throughout the night and only fell into deep sleep when it was almost dawn.
The next day, she woke up in the afternoon with Anderson beside her.
