“Sure.” Anderson’s gaze gradually deepened.
His ears echoed with the familiar and pleasant laughter. “Andy, do you think these roses are beautiful? I picked them up on the roadside.
“On my way home from school, I saw a guy having a fight with his
girlfriend. He threw the roses away. I thought it was a waste, so I picked them up.”
Seeing him agree, Isabel reached out to hold him. On her wrist, she was wearing the opal jewelry that Anderson had bought for her for 60 million dollars at the charity event three days ago.
“Andy, you’ve had too much to drink. Let me help you upstairs to rest.”
“It’s okay,” Anderson said.
Isabel’s expression froze at once. “Are you not staying?”
Anderson withdrew his hand, his gaze becoming stern. “I don’t think I should.”
The disappointment in Isabel’s eyes flickered.
Outside Fisher Residence’s gate, a car stopped. Anderson reached out to help Isabel adjust the rose–colored shawl on her shoulders.
“Mrs. Barlow’s position will be yours if it’s yours. Just do your own duties well.”
“…”
She knew Anderson was blaming her for the Fisher family’s abrupt call to Sonia to complain. However, it wasn’t her intention.
“Rest well,” Anderson said.
He walked to the car, and Shane opened the door to the passenger side. When Isabel saw Anderson leaving without looking back, her expression gradually dimmed.

In the car, Shane noticed Anderson’s mood wasn’t quite right. If this continued, a sense of unease would permeate the entire Everton Corporation.
Shane plucked up the courage and said, “Mr. Barlow, if you’re worried, I can bring Ms. Sadler back. It’s been several days. She should’ve figured things out by now.”
Anderson had his eyes closed. “Go to Oakware Bay.”
After that, he frowned, clearly in discomfort. He tried to endure the intense
pain. “Forget it. It’s too late today.”
No matter how fierce their argument was, Anderson couldn’t bear to hurt
her.
Tonight, to deal with the relatives of the Fisher family, he had indeed drunk quite a bit.
If it weren’t for Sonia, Anderson might not have gone there.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you were doing that night! Is an outsider worth sacrificing your future wife for? How do you expect Isa to hold her head up in front of her relatives? You’ve been away for more than a decade, and you’ve forgotten all the rules and etiquette of the Barlow family!”

Back at the Barlow mansion, Anderson walked into a room. Without seeing clearly, he pushed the door open and stumbled inside.

“I was really scared last time. I thought Mr. Anderson was really going to check the surveillance cameras and find out what we were saying. If he found out, how could we continue working here? How could we still get such high pay?”
“She thinks she’s really something. I’ve figured it out. No matter how pretty she looks, she can’t compare to even a single strand of Ms. Fisher’s hair. If I were her, I’d feel too embarrassed to stay. She’s such a drama queen.”
“If she really is the daughter of the Barlow family, we’d definitely serve her well. Sadly, she just wasn’t born with that noble destiny.”
“It was smart of you to call Mr. Anderson in advance and tell him she ran away from home in a fit of anger.”
A maid was about to put the freshly washed bed sheets and covers into the closet, so she pushed the door open.
Inside, she saw a man sitting on the pink princess bed with his legs. spread apart, his demeanor starkly contrasting with the room’s ambiance. His gaze, brimming with danger, landed on the area just outside the door.
