Chapter 20 – The Tombstone
Over the next two weeks, the once arrogant and super–competent Ace
seemed to be back.
He led his company to accomplishment after accomplishment, watched his company’s stock price slowly rise from its plunge, and everything seemed to be
back on track.
But he seemed more apathetic than ever, the smile on his face eclipsed.
“Clean up Carl’s grave and reorganize it.”
When the aide heard those words come out of the man’s mouth, he froze in
whose grave?” place and asked skeptically, “Mr. Robert, did you just say
……
Ace raised his eyes and looked at him, “I said, clean out Anna’s father’s
grave.”
The assistant gulped and froze on the spot.
Mr. Robert wasn’t crazy, was he? He’d always hated the man who killed his
mother. But now he wanted to pay to reorganize his enemy’s grave?
It was true that something about Anna drove Ace crazy, wasn’t it?
“And do one thing for me.”
The aide shook his head sharply, then withdrew his thoughts, “What is it?
Mr. Robert.”
“Do your best to find all of Anna’s cellmates from the two years she was in
prison, I want to meet them.”

“What? Who are you looking for? Anna, huh?”
Ace looked at the young woman in front of him and nodded without
expression.
She gave him a somewhat wary look and frowned, “Who are you?”
The man hesitated for a second at the question.
The woman’s eyes widened in surprise as she said, “I know! You’re the one
who put Anna in jail, aren’t you?”
“I knew men were assholes! You don’t even care about your own daughter,
are you still a man?!”

“Anna suffered a lot in prison. In places like that, it’s inevitable that
newcomers are responsible for scrubbing toilets, and all the other dirty works.‘
“The bitch who led the group was jealous of Anna when she saw how pretty
she was, and constantly bullied her. One time she almost ruined Anna’s face!”
Listening, Ace’s body suddenly trembled.
The woman patted her chest, recalling the difficult years in prison, “Luckily,
Anna knew how to fight back. She pinned the bitch down and slapped her hard
with her shoe. After that that woman never dared to bully Anna again!”
Ace was relieved to hear that.
The woman sighed and glared hatefully at Ace, gritting her teeth and
cursing, “You stinking bastard, you knew your daughter had leukemia, so you
abandoned her? Do you know that Anna worked so hard to reduce her sentence

just so she could get out earlier to treat her child! You bastard! Go to hell.”
She mercilessly dumped a cup of tea on Ace and left angrily.
Ace was shocked. His entire body froze in his chair!
He kept recalling what the woman had said when she left…
Leukemia!
Anna and Galen’s child… Got leukemia?
Ace tried desperately to calm himself down, to control himself again and
again. During that half–month in Vancouver, Galen did go to see a kid every day.
But he had never seen Galen take the child to the hospital!
