Chapter 14 Hints
Just then, Lily suddenly smiled, a light flashing through her eyes.
Luckily, she didn’t hesitate to wait an extra month for her tattoo
appointment with the tattoo artist. Not only did the scar look realistic, it was
even as real as a real scar to the touch.
Otherwise, there was no way it could have convinced Ace for so many
years.
Half a month later.
After a few hours of international meetings, Ace slumped in his chair with
his eyes closed in exhaustion. That’s when his assistant pushed his door a bit
eagerly.
“Mr. Robert! We finally found Anna!”
At the sound of the voice, the man’s eyes snapped open and his brow
furrowed, “Go ahead.”
“Garren Shawn immigrated to Vancouver a year ago, so he’s been out of the
country for a long time.” The assistant said.
In this half month, Ace had utilized almost all of his connections to
investigate Galen. However, the man seemed to have seen it all coming and was
well prepared. All information about Garren was nowhere to be found.
Ace had been working desperately in the meantime, but it seemed that was
the only way he could force himself not to think about Anna.
Ace sat in his chair, yet his eyes gradually darkened.

He stared in one direction without moving. Through the white walls, he
seemed to be transported back to a summer night many years ago. He was
holding Anna in his arms then as he crossed the green stone path.
“Anna, do you like summer?”
The woman leaned her head against his broad back, her voice soft and
sweet, “I still like fall.”
“Why?”
“I like the maple leaves.”
“Maple leaves?”
“Well, I’ve always wanted to go to Vancouver to see the maple leaves. If I
ever get the chance to go abroad in the future
that would definitely be my first
choice to settle down.”
In a trance, Ace even felt Anna on his back, her soft hair falling on his neck
and sweeping unobtrusively across his face.
It was a feeling that almost drove him crazy.
Vancouver… Garren…
Ace clenched his fists violently. The thought that at this very moment Anna
might be lying cutely in some other man’s arms watching the maple leaves, as
she had been back then, instantly set Ace’s heart ablaze with rage!
He would never allow Anna to do that!

The next day, Vancouver.
Early in the morning, maple leaves were falling and birds were singing in
the clear sky.
“Good morning!”
“Have a nice day!”
The man returning from his morning jog stopped and smiled as he greeted
his neighbor who was greeting him.
Covered in sweat, Garren walked straight into the bathroom.
Ten minutes later, he came out in clean and dry clothes, ready to go out to
meet a client.
The house bell suddenly rang, Garrenwent to look at the monitor but the
screen was dark and obviously blocked on purpose.
Suspicion arose in his mind and he frowned. He wondered which one of the
neighborhood kids had done it.
So when Ace appeared with a cold face, Galen unexpectedly froze in the
doorway and couldn’t help but widen his eyes.

now.”
