Chapter 13 Surprise
“Ace? Why did you come over here without calling me first?”
Lily was coming out of the shower when she opened the door. She was startled when she saw the man,
Ace stared at her and narrowed his eyes slightly, “Your fiancé wanted to surprise you and see how you would react. But why do I get the feeling this is more of a shock to you now?”
Lilly’s eyes widened. She was stunned for a second and immediately said, “What? Ace! I just feel a little surprised.”
Ace didn’t say anything. He glanced at her indifferently, then sat down on the edge of the bed.
Lily didn’t understand the reason for his late night visit. Ace hadn’t slept
with her yet, even if she had seduced him once.
Could he have come to…?
The woman’s hands squeezed her washcloth tightly at the thought.
Lily sat gently next to him. Seeing that the man wasn’t speaking, she
frowned and said anxiously, “Ace, I know you
Before she could finish speaking, Ace interrupted her.
“Lily, it must be very painful for you to give me a kidney.”
His calm tone made the woman tense up instantly!
Lily did her best to stay calm and not show anything out of the ordinary.
She lowered her voice and whispered, “They anesthetized me, so it wasn’t that

bad. It’s just a little uncomfortable after the anesthesia ……”
“If you hadn’t volunteered to transplant one of your kidneys to me, I’d be
dead.”
Lily frowned slightly and couldn’t help but raise her eyes to the man. Ace
seemed to be trapped in the memories of the past.
“Ace, I love you. As long as I can save you, even if I have to give you my
heart, I’ll give it to you! Don’t feel guilty and stop saying those things.”
Her hand slowly and tentatively touched the man’s arm, her eyes and
mouth half–open and looking very sexy. No one could resist that temptation.
Ace stopped her hand when she touched his chest. His dark eyes stared at
the woman as he curled his lips and said, “I see. Can I see the scars you have
because of me one more time?”
At those words, Lily’s scalp instantly went numb, her smile froze on her
face, and her blood instantly stopped!
But she had to act like there was no unusual behavior at the moment!
“Sure.”
She was very nervous. Nonetheless, she lifted the towel, revealing the scars
on her abdomen.
Ace frowned as she scrutinized the scar on Lily and touched it with feigned
sympathy.
It was a medium length scar.
The location was indeed correct as well.

Lily White… Hadn’t lied to him.
After looking at the scar, Ace remembered another medical record. His
hand trembled slightly and his eyes narrowed.
He withdrew his hand and looked at Lily calmly, “You know, every time I
see this scar of yours, I wonder how much the owner of that kidney loved me
enough to make such a sacrifice.”
The woman immediately replied, “Ace, you know how much I love you.”
“Well, I know.”
Ace finished taking off his jacket and covering Lily, “It’s late, good night.”
Then he left immediately.
Lily sat up in bed, looking down at herself with lowered eyes. If she hadn’t
been draped in Ace’s clothes, she would have thought that everything that had
just happened was a dream!
Why was Ace so out of sorts today?
Lying in bed, Lily White lost sleep and reached out to gently touch her scar.
