Chapter 139 Defend Gianna
As soon as they sat down, a woman in her early thirties walked in on her high heels. She wore black–rimmed gla*ses and looked very serious.
She held a stack of folders in her hand. As soon as she entered the room, she greeted Levi warmly, “Mr. Rivera, long time no see!”
Levi raised his eyebrows. It was obvious they knew each other. “Long time no see, Ms. Johnson!”
Emily Johnson nodded slightly and turned her attention to Gianna not far away. “Are you Ms. Lewis?” She asked, not intending to hide the mockery in her eyes.
Her tone was full of disdain.
Gianna frowned, feeling the woman’s hostility towards her.
But she had never met this woman before.
“Nice to meet you, Ms. Johnson! I’m Gianna Lewis,” Gianna greeted her politely.
Emily folded her arms across her chest, condescending. “I know you. You’re Mr. Rivera’s ex–wife.”
As soon as those words left Emily’s l*ps, the atmosphere in the huge conference room suddenly became a little frosty.
“Ms. Lewis, you must have extraordinary abilities to be the CEO of Empyrean Group at such a young age. I’m wondering how much you know about nanotechnology,” Emily continued. Gianna smiled politely.
“Well, I understand a little.”
Hearing that, Emily believed Gianna was a macaroni with no abilities, and she took over as CEO with the help of her family.
In addition, she had a personal grudge against Gianna.
When she learned that the company wanted to work with Empyrean Group, she volunteered to attend the meeting in order to teach Gianna a lesson.
“Ms. Lewis, the competition in the business world is fierce. If you are not prepared, I advise you to quit as soon as possible so that you do not become a laughingstock,” Emily continued.
Gianna didn’t get angry but spoke in the same measured voice, “You’re right, Ms. Johnson. I just want to see the world.”
Emily banged on the desk and said sternly, “Do you want to see the world? Ms. Lewis, how dare you say that! What do you take our Dragon Group for? Do you think it’s funny? You don’t want to work with us but rather fool us, right?
“Ms. Johnson, you must be kidding!” A male voice suddenly sounded at that moment. The next second, the door of the conference room was pushed open, and Shawn, in a dark black handmade suit, appeared at the door.
Emily was stunned!
She knew Shawn, the mysterious CEO of Fallon Group!
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Fallon!” Emily hurriedly greeted Shawn with a smile. Her arrogance faded away in an instant. She was a hypocrite using double standards in treating different people.
