Chapter 24 The Story
With the big exam over, Fox no longer had to go to school on time. So, he added
more activities to his morning exercise routine. He wanted to improve his physical
condition.
After a run, he was panting heavily. Even in the early morning, the sun was already scorching.
When Fox got home and opened the door, he immediately sensed something. It was a strange feeling, and he turned his head to look.
There, at the dining table, sat a beautiful girl, like a porcelain doll, enjoying some delicious pastries. They were the love–filled breakfast Faye had prepared for Fox, but now they belonged to her. She wore a white hat with a small flower on it, and her legs swung lightly as she savored the tasty treats.
Seeing this, Fox smiled.
“Jennifer, you’re here.”
Though it had only been a few days, it felt like decades to Fox.
“Fox, you’ll have to make do with this egg sandwich.”
His mom, Faye, said perfunctorily, placing more pastries on Jennifer’s plate. In the past month, Jennifer had met Faye several times. They had developed a good relationship, always whispering about Fox and laughing together.
Faye knew Jennifer loved these treats, so she always made sure Fox brought some to her. Now, Fox sat down pitifully, having only a dry sandwich to eat. Jennifer smiled and pushed a piece of cake to Fox, happy to share life’s little pleasures with him.
Fox smiled and ate contentedly.
“I went to MIT for the final interview and visited my grandfather.”
Jennifer said, a bit of cream on the corner of her mouth. Fox took a napkin and wiped away the white mark.
“And you? How did the exams go?”
Jennifer asked, her eyes full of anticipation.
“Don’t worry, I aced them. You know my skills.”
Fox replied with a smile.

“So, what’s your plan now? Do you want to go to the library together?”
Jennifer asked, feeling full.
“Let me take a shower and change clothes, then we need to go to the school. I have something to do with the computers there. Would you like to come with me? You could read or go online next to me.‘
Fox invited Jennifer, who readily agreed.
After showering and changing into fresh clothes, Fox used his bicycle to transport them both. Before they left, Faye secretly gave Fox some money.
“Take the girl out for a nice lunch and don’t worry about coming back for dinner. Is this enough?”
Faye was helping him out.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be back before dinner.”
Fox said with a smile.
“Oh, you clueless boy! Take her out for a date!”
Faye knocked on Fox’s head playfully.
Of course, Fox understood Faye’s intention. But Jennifer’s family was wealthy and had a set dinner time. Coming home late would inconvenience her, and Fox didn’t want that.
They arrived at the school, and Fox explained his needs to a teacher. Given his excellent student status and the fact that Jennifer was with him, the teacher readily handed over the computer lab keys.
Fox and Jennifer went to the computer lab, where he chose a well–maintained computer in the corner. The old operating system was a bit of a headache for him, coming from the future, but he quickly adapted.
“Fox, you’re quite skilled. Have you used a computer before?”
Jennifer asked, touching her chin. She remembered Fox’s family didn’t have a computer.
“I’ve read books and taken courses, so it’s no big deal.”
Fox said, typing away and searching for various information.
“What do you want to do with the compute:
Jennifer asked, setting her book aside, her eyes burning with curiosity.
want to make some money to improve va condtions and pay for tuition *
Fox explained honestly
“Wel, shoe you’re good with computers and type fast, how about I get you a typing
Jennifer suggested
Fox gave her a deep look. Jennifer wasn’t joking, she could easily get him such a job. But that wasn’t what Fox wanted.
“Jennifer, I want to try something I’ve prepared for.”
Fox said, pulling out a series of books from his backpack
“Scriptwriting? Storytelling formulas? Writing a good story, huh?”
Jennifer raised an eyebrow. Fox, who was studying math before, was now into
scriptwriting.
So, you want to write a script and sell it for a fortune?”
Jennifer quickly figured out his plan.
“Exactly, I think it’s a quick path.”
Fox said with a smile.
“Oh? I’m curious about the stories you can write.”
Jennifer found Fox increasingly interesting.
“Start writing then. I’ll read my book and check your story later.”
Jennifer picked up her heavy book.
‘But I don’t know what to write.”
Fox planned to use stories from the future that were popular hits.
“How about Sherlock Holmes?”
Jennifer lazily suggested, her current book being “The Adventures of Sherlock
Holmes.”
*Sure, let’s do that.”
Fox’s eyes lit up. This was a great idea.
*Huh?” Jennifer was genuinely puzzled
Did she hear him right?
