Chapter 2
It turned out that the dead child was so young.
It was a tiny ball, curled up in an ordinary box, with its hands and feet not even fully developed.
I held the box in my hands and stared at it in a daze. Was it my child who was once connected to me by blood? It was still so small, and its hands and feet were not yet developed. The doctor comforted me by saying that I would have another child in the future, but it would not be it.
I held the box in my arms and couldn’t help but cry. “I was sorry, it’s my fault that I couldn’t save you.”
I went back home and packed my things. I didn’t touch anything Cody bought for me. I only took the amulet that I had asked for my child, because I went to the temple to ask for it when I first got pregnant.
It was the only thing that belonged to my child.
I went downstairs with the amulet. The living room was brightly lit and I could faintly hear child’s laughter. My heart skipped a beat and I ran downstairs quickly. I saw Emma’s son Damian standing on the table in the living room, jumping around. His eyes turned to the box where I had placed my child’s remains and he reached out to open it.
“Don’t touch it!” I rushed over and slapped his hand away.
The loud slapping sound echoed in the living room. The back of Damian’s hand immediately turned red. He was stunned for a moment and then started to cry loudly with his mouth wide open. Cody stood up and pushed me away, “What are you doing!”
I hugged the box tightly, looked up and glared at him, “Who told you to touch my things!”
Cody said, “It’s just a box. Why so serious.”
Damian was still crying and yelling for the box. Cody reached out to grab it, but I held the box tightly and lowered my head to bite the back of his hand hard.
“Ah!” He gasped. I glared at him with hatred in my eyes. He seemed stunned for a moment when he looked at me, but immediately said angrily, “It’s just a box. I will buy you as many as you want in the future!”
“What are you fighting for with a kid-”
I hugged the box tightly. It was my life and the only thing I wanted to protect now! He finally felt a little uneasy when he saw me with a crazy face. He held my hand tightly and said, “What are you doing? Look at yourself. Remember your identity as Mrs. Walker?”
I looked
o at him and said coldly, “Then let’s get a divorce! I don’t want to be Mr

Walker anymore.”
He suddenly looked up at me, “Are you crazy?
He didn’t seem to expect that I, who was always docile, would say such a thing. He sneered, “Threatening me? Do you think it’s that easy to get a divorce?”
His eyes fell on my lower abdomen, “If you dare to divorce me, after this child is born, you will never see him again!”
“Monica Bath, I mean what I say!”
“If you behave yourself and be Mrs. Walker, I will give you whatever you want.”
He always knew how to take advantage of me, giving me a sweet date after a fight. In the past, after ignoring me for a few days, he would give me a small gift, just like training a dog.
But I didn’t care about anything now, he couldn’t control me anymore.
Maybe it was because I was silent for too long, he was unusually impatient, “What do you want? Do you want Emma to leave again?”
Emma’s expression froze when she heard this, “Cody, do you really want me to leave? She was clearly wrong, but she still hit Damian!”
She glared at me fiercely, “It’s just a box!”
Emma rushed over and snatched the box from my hand, then threw it heavily to the ground!
The things inside fell to the ground. She showed a disgusted expression. She stepped on it hard and crushed it as if she was not satisfied. “What the hell! So disgusting!”
“No!” I rushed over and pushed her away heavily. She bumped into the table and the documents on it scattered all over the floor.
Cody was furious, “Monica Bath!”
I knelt on the ground in despair, trying to touch my child with trembling hands, but it had been trampled by her beyond recognition, without even the last bit of dignity left.
Cody said with disgust, “Is this piece of garbage worth your excitement? You should apologize to her right now!”

I ignored him. Cody took out his phone and called his secretary, “Go and draw divorce agreement. After the child is born, it will belong to me, and Monica Bath will never be able to see the child…”
His words came to an abrupt end, and the diagnosis issued by the hospital lay on the ground, as if mocking everything.
He bent down and picked up that piece of paper.
“A miscarriage due to heavy bleeding from a fall…”
